Pitsidia
The village of Pitsidia is located 65 km southwest of Heraklion, one hour to drive by car orone and a half hour by public bus, with approximately 700 inhabitants is the seat of the Phaistos community. Pitsidia is the oldest village of the area. The well developed road from Airport Heraklion Nikos Kazantzakis or Harbour Heraklion is fairly good and passes through the mountain Agia Varbara up to nearly 600 m o.s. in the Messara area.
